The family of a British toddler have accused Scotland Yard of failing them as a fresh inquiry opens in Australia into the child’s disappearance. The couple, who moved to New South Wales a decade ago, say they have been left with nothing but questions. Their son vanished from a beach near Sydney in 2018 at just 18 months old.
For years they believed the case was being handled properly. Now they speak of a system that lost interest. Labour MP for the region has called for a public inquiry into the original investigation.
The Metropolitan Police declined to comment on the claims citing ongoing reviews. The family say they will travel to Australia this month to face the new team. They want answers.
They want the boy found. They want to know why it took so long.
