A devastating human cost has emerged from the latest escalation in the Red Sea corridor. An Indian sailor, speaking to his wife by satellite phone just minutes before a US precision strike struck his vessel, reportedly told her, “Don’t worry, we are safe.” The call dropped.
He did not survive. The incident has sent shockwaves through diplomatic circles and prompted the United Kingdom to demand an immediate review of rules of engagement for coalition forces operating in the region.
