An Israeli airstrike in Gaza has killed an Al Jazeera cameraman, bringing the number of journalists killed in the conflict to at least 10. The strike, part of a fresh wave of attacks, also killed five other individuals, according to Palestinian medical officials. The cameraman, identified as Ahmed al-Hajj, was reporting near the town of Khan Younis when the strike hit.
Al Jazeera condemned the attack, calling it a deliberate targeting of journalists. The Israeli military said it was investigating the incident. The deaths come amid continued international calls for a ceasefire, with diplomatic efforts intensifying at the United Nations.
The latest violence has pushed the death toll in Gaza beyond 35,000, according to the Hamas-run health ministry. The conflict has also displaced over 1.7 million people, with widespread damage to infrastructure.
