Pakistan has carried out a series of air strikes inside Afghan territory, killing at least 46 people and wounding dozens, according to Afghan officials. The strikes, which targeted alleged militant hideouts in Khost and Kunar provinces, represent a significant escalation in cross-border hostilities. The Pakistani military confirmed the operation, stating it was aimed at Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) insurgents who have carried out attacks from Afghan soil.
The Afghan Taliban government condemned the strikes as a violation of sovereignty and vowed retaliation. The incident threatens to unravel recent diplomatic efforts between Islamabad and Kabul and raises fears of a wider regional conflict. International observers have called for restraint as the situation on the ground remains volatile.
