The Thai royal family has announced the death of Princess Siribha Chudhabhorn, who passed away after a three-year coma. She was 39. The princess, a first cousin of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, suffered a sudden collapse in 2020 due to a rare autoimmune condition that left her in a persistent vegetative state.
The Bureau of the Royal Household issued a statement expressing deep sorrow and confirming that funeral rites will be held at the Grand Palace. The princess was known for her charitable work in rural healthcare and education. Her passing has prompted an outpouring of grief across Thailand, with citizens gathering outside hospitals to pay respects.
The royal family has requested privacy during this mourning period.
